Mass Effect: Andromeda: What We Know About the Storyline

Mass Effect Andromeda, the 4th installment in the Mass Effect series, that has been in development for ages, will finally launch March 21 of 2017 in North America on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The release date for Europe is March 23. Andromeda’s story will take place 600 years after the events of the original trilogy, and it will not rely on the previous storyline. We also know that Andromeda will be set in a true open world environment instead of the “linear open world” and that there will be at least two major new races: the Kett and the Remnant.
Mass Effect: Andromeda storyline revolves around the “Andromeda Initiative,” which is mankind’s first journey outside the Milky Way galaxy and into the galaxy of Andromeda, 2.5 million light-years away. Your mission is to explore the new galaxy and find planets that can support human life. Andromeda introduces us to a new main protagonist named “Ryder”, who can again be played as either male or female. Andromeda’s main story will start with Ryder waking up from the cryosleep as one of the first humans in the Andromeda galaxy. The series of events that followed leads to Ryder becoming the “Pathfinder”, responsible for the safety and colonization once the Andromeda is reached. The new game brings a twist: whichever gender you choose to play will have an opposite-sex sibling to Ryder. The developers also suggested that swiching characters could be a new feature of Andromeda.
Lucky for us, we won’t be forced to wait too long anymore until we meet the characters and start exploring the new galaxy!
